Wrestling alligators, capturing Tasmanian devils, handling Australia’s deadliest animals – it’s all in a days work for Tim Faulkner.

Tim was born in the western Sydney suburb of Greystanes in 1982 and from the moment he can remember he’s had a fascination with nature and animals, especially captivated by Australian fauna.

After completing work experience during year 10 at Featherdale Wildlife Park, NSW; he was employed full time and worked there for 8 years until 2005.

At 23, he started work at the Australian Reptile Park (ARP) where he still remains today. As Senior Curator of ARP, he enjoys an exciting and diverse job that takes him all over the country to work with a huge range of Aussie animals and looking for ways to protect their future.

Tim works with many endangered animals, and has played a significant role in establishing a successful captive breeding program of the endangered Tasmanian Devils on the mainland. (This program is the first of its kind in the world). He has also hand reared hundreds of animals, including mammals, marsupials and birds, and is the first person in history to successfully raise Rainbow bee eaters.

Tim is a great spokesperson for the animals, presenting hundreds of public demonstrations in the zoos and fronting many media related stories. He has presented on all of the free to air channels in Australia as well as Foxtel, National Geographic, Animal Planet, IMAX and others. He is currently reporting as a wildlife expert for Talk to the Animals on Channel Nine.
